Surfing is dangerous - read this

Every spot description, difficulty rating and conditions note on this site is general information, not a safety assessment for the day you visit. Ocean conditions change by the hour; a spot rated beginner-friendly can be lethal on the wrong swell, tide or wind. Reefs, rocks, currents and other surfers injure people at every level. Before you paddle out:

• Check the live forecast and the IPMA marine bulletin yourself.
• Watch the break from shore before entering the water.
• Take a lesson if you are new - the schools we list are certified for a reason.
• Never surf alone at a spot you do not know.

Always confirm the current price and terms on the operator's own site before paying. Spot information marked "unverified" has not been confirmed by a local surfer; do not plan a session around it.
